Badass Cow Takes Down Helicopter And Walks Off Like A Boss

The bovine revolution has begun.
A cow in Australia scuffled with a helicopter over the weekend, and the battle didn’t end the way you might expect.
When an unidentified chopper pilot tried to round up cows at a cattle station in Coen, on the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, on Sunday, things didn’t go so well. Here’s the aftermath, posted on social media by Australian student pilot and aviation enthusiast Brendan Grainger:
It’s believed the rails underneath the helicopter got tangled up in the cow’s horns, causing the chopper to lose balance,” the Queensland Police Service wrote on its website.
While the chopper was udderly destroyed, the 35-year-old pilot of the Robinson R22 Beta mustering helicopter was uninjured... except, perhaps for his pride.
And the cow? According to the Brisbane Times, the cow was just fine

ABSTRACT
Oil palm is the most important product from Nigeria that has helped to change the scenario of its agriculture and economy. Lignocellulosic biomass which is produced from the oil palm industries includes oil palm trunks (OPT), oil palm fronds (OPF), empty fruit bunches (EFB), and palm pressed fibres (PPF), palm shells and palm oil mill effluent (POME). However, the presence of these oil palm wastes has created a major disposal problem. The fundamental principles of waste management are to minimise and recycle the waste, recover the energy and finally dispose the waste. Oil palm industry generates a large quantity of residues and wastes in form of empty fruit bunch, palm kernel shells, trunk of the plant, fibre, leaves and others. When palm oil is extracted and processed, it also produces effluents with high organic matter, suspended matter and oil and grease. These waste cause ecosystem degradation and affects health of the communities. Palm oil waste contributes to Green House Gases (GHG) and conversion to energy is a good means of obtaining carbon credit facility for sustainable management. Palm oil is a basic source of income for many farmers in south, East Asia; it is locally used as cooking oil exported for use in many boifuel. It is a valuable economic crop and provides a source of employment.

Elephants Never Forget

Here is a remarkably moving story of kindness and friendship that throws the doors wide open on possibility.
Today we bring you the story of Shirley the elephant who, for 20 years, had no other company of her own species. Then one day… well, we want you to watch the video because it’s so extraordinarily.

In fact, this story touched us so much that we could hardly believe it was legitimate. As we do with all our EWC articles, we did the homework so that you wouldn’t have to.
It turns out, this video was made by ordinary people, like you and I, trying to make the world a little better!
The elephant sanctuary where the animals found peace is called The Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee and they have a wonderful website and an amazing Facebook page which has almost daily postings about the real lives of the animals and their kind stewards.
See if your day is a little brighter for knowing all this exists:

First designs for autonomous ship solutions

First it was the driverless car, then came further futuristic concept proposals for the pilotless plane. Now, it seems, we are getting closer to a time when we’ll see the first in a new generation of crewless ships sailing across our oceans.

A group of researchers at the Bath University are envisaging a future where kids will be born from embryos made from skin cells rather than eggs produced by women.

MANAGEMENT OF JAUNDICE IN NEONATES

                                            CHAPTER ONE
1.0                                                            INTRODUCTION
Jaundice as a clinical sign has been recorded for over 2300 years, and quite logically anything written about it, in a purely clinical sense, is often mostly repetitious. However, the jaundiced patient is frequently ill, uncomfortable, unsightly and unable to work; thus it is worthwhile to review this problem from time to time. There has been a progressive unraveling of the many facets of the jaundice problem in the past 10 years which has been of great value to the practicing physician
